AoF was formed in Uppsala in 1969 . The band experimented with various styles changing membership and musical direction on each disk. The core group consisted of Roland Keijser (sax), Torsten Eckerman (trumpet, keyboards) and later Tord Bengtsson (bass, violin) with Ove Karlsson (cello, guitar, vocals) as a permanent member of the band. Almost all the musicians in the group were multi-instrumentalists. Keijser and KjellWestling (sax, violin) were part of Gunder Hägg while Bengtsson Över glans had been in Sjo Och Strand. Thomas Mera Gartz (violin, guitar) and Torbjörn Abelli (bass) came from Trad Gras Och Sten and would subsequently be Badkar Archimedes, like Bengt Berger (drums). Another important musician who went through the group was Bosse Skoglund (drums), who was a member of the band also Peps Persson and it would be a founding member of Nature. The Sonet label released the first records of the group whose music would range from folk to jazz music through experimental. At the time that most of the musicians in Sweden policy permeated his records, did AoF recording an album with Rolf Lundqvist. He later became a record for MNW and end of his career in Archie Badkar eventually join to form a band called Arbach huge. The dissolution of the group took place in 1981.
